Hurricane Irene = Lasagna and Movies!!

Seeing that city officials have prepared for the worst possible scenario...we are confined to our apartment!  All trains, subways and busses have been cancelled and we currently have light rain!!  For their sake I hope it at least rains a little harder!

All is well with us and the dogs!

Justin's most current picture.....

Justin has been working like a crazy person that has more time than actual hours in a day!! He recently did the Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook for a designer named Mark McNairy. Yesterday and today he has been working as the street photographer for (capsule) and took this picture of McNairy's son Rider.

How cute is he!! Please notice the elbow dimples, the button on the pants, the cuffed pants, and of course the tiny shoes!! All made by his dad just for him!! I totally want to babysit this kid!!

If you have time check out Justin's blog for constant updates on what he is doing!

Birthday resolution...

Let's call this second (or maybe third) attempt at blogging my birthday resolution...and what better way to begin than with and early birthday present.

I don't usually open present before my birthday...but this one came with strict instructions to open immediately!! And I'm glad I did...it is the most amazing bag ever! Handmade with all different fabrics, embroidery, and great pockets!! I took it with me today to sign the lease on our new place (post to come) and even puppy friendly!!

Thanks Mom for the great gift!!

Matzah had puppies

Four gorgeous puppies born yesterday. She went in to labor at 3am and the last puppy came at 10am.  They are all brown, two have some white.

Asiadog

Still no sign of the puppies so we went to the Brooklyn flea again.  Nothing that caught our eye this time...except the food!!

Princess Castle

I finally created a castle, or more like a cave, for Matzah to have her puppies in. The reason for it being all pink is that the blankets were on extreme sale at Target. However, I think she prefers pink...maybe. Buddha likes it too. He tried taking over, but got booted out by all the hormones Matzah is emitting!!

Brooklyn Flea

We are a big fans of antiques, and have heard amazing things about the Brooklyn Flea. So today we made our trip to it....and it was incredible. So many cool things. Not just antiques, but also homemade kind of things too. For example one person made chair and foot rests out of old luggage.

And we were successful, we found a beautiful chair for Justin's office. Which we then had to take on the subway! Ohh the adventure...for some reason there is an investigation on the subway line we take home, so it is delayed. So we go on another train and then we would walk a bit more. The train we got on was an express train, it was supposed to stop at Franklin St. but it stopped at another street and I got confused and got off, but Justin and the chair didn't!! So I had to wait for the next train and hopefully see Justin...which I did. We then got on another train, got off on Franklin St. and walked about 8 blocks to our apartment. All for a chair...totally worth it!

Mile End Delicatessen

Today we decided to go to Trader Joe's and say hi to some people Justin knows in the area. During our outing we of course got hungry. We searched on yelp for places to go eat, I was crazing a burger (like always) and Justin wanted pho. So we tried a few American food places first and they were closed, then we tried Vietnamese and we failed. So we went in to the Steven Alan clothing shop and asked the girl there and she recommended Mile End Delicatessen.

I think there should be a spot light on this place, it was amazing. Very small, but delicious. So goo that we had to take a picture of our food (which we never do!). Here it is:

The dish consisted of fries with gravy, cheese curds and pastrami. Ohhhh it was heaven!!

Starting this blog...

I have decided to start this blog in order to be able to keep my family and friends better updated with my new move to Brooklyn, NY. I plan on posting no more than once a day (possible less) with a highlight of that day or something that stood out to me. I plan on keeping this blog for at least 6 months.

This is our new building. We live on the fourth floor, and no there is no elevator! We also have roof access, which we have not gone to see because of the snow. More pictures to come!!
